need recs on video capture/editing software, link at end of video for streaming video

I am making a 2 minute video promo for my company's software. I wish
to do the following things - and if you can give me direction on any
I'd be appreciative! Thanks,

1) I need to find good inexpensive video capture software that I can
use to record me using our software -- I also need to edit this later,
put a voiceover on top (which I can do seperately) and I'd like a link
at the end of the video to lead the user to our sales page. Whether
they see the link or get redirected automatically, I don't care.

What format should I use for my website? I'm aiming for just a you-
tube like production that is short and sweet and leads people to our
sales page.

I believe the (free) Microsoft Windows Media encoder has
a screen-capture feature. The industry-leader, Camtasia
is very expensive, but I believe there are others, also.

I believe there are options to either edit WMV or else
convert it to something that IS easy to edit.

I don't remember whether WMV has that capability?
Flash does, though.

The most widely-available viewing utility is Adobe
(formerly Macromedia) Flash which is what YouTube,
et.al. are using. It comes pre-installed on pretty much all
PCs and Macs (unlike Quicktime, Windows Media, Real,
etc.)

There is supposed to be a free Flash converter available
out there somewhere but I don't have the details at hand.

Richard, are you thinking of the (free) Riva FLV encoder?
