- Player with a "jump to minute:second" option and/or add marks tovideo.

Hi.
I'm looking for a video/media player that has an option to jump to an
exact position of the timeline.
Something like "Go to minute:second". I've tried some video player,
but none has this option.
Can anyone recomend one? I'd prefer if it is a free/freeware/shareware
player.
Another question.
Is it possible to add marks to a video, so it is possible to jump to
that mark later on?
Something like tracks in a CD or chapters in a DVD, but for any type
of video file.
(I'm not sure, but this could depend on the format of the original
video file)
I would like to add about 30-40 marks in a video of about 1h 30min.
Is there any solution for this feature in a form of player or editing/
player software?
Thanks in advance.

Most re-authoring programs will do that for you. TMPGEnc DVD Author is
the one I use.

Mmm, but I don't want it in a DVD format.
Let me give a simple example: I have an avi file with a divx codec.
I want to put 30 marks on it, so I'm able to navigate through the
marks using a PC media player,
or copy it to a Multimedia Hard Disk and navigate in the similar way.
Is it possible to do that without converting to a different format?
Is there a freeware tool to do that?
Makes any difference if the original file is a .mpg one?

MPC is my favorite as well, it offers more options for
playback than any other media player I know of. It does
this with familiar tools and techniques, that include:
Command Line Switches
Options settings
Both Internal and External Filter controls
extensive options for setting Keys
The other freeware media player with similar options
including the Bookmarks function that most players have
is VLC http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
