Premiere Pro 2.0 no audio in Timeline
Posted by John on February 6th, 2007

Hello,

At the moment I get no audio in the Timeline and preview monitors. I
can drag an AVI clip from the BIN to the time line and that plays. I
have tried other projects and the timeline play the audio just fine.
I tried cutting the clips out and putting them in a new project and
that worked once or twice and then after a short while I get no audio
again. I can drag an AVI file to the Source Monitor and that plays
OK.

Any help would be appreciated!

AVI file can mean alot of things. Likely the Audio in THIS particular
AVI file is in a format incompatible. Get Gspot and find out the
properties of the file.

Not sure exactly how you are bringing in your video to the timeline. If you
go to the help forum on Adobe website, you will find a number of postings
about problems capturing audio, including my frustrated post. When I
capture HDV into Premiere Pro 2.0, the audio captures fine for about a
minute, then goes into a continuous loop. Others have experienced the same
problem. Works fine if you import an avi file, or capture using AspectHD.
Never did get a solution. I switched to a different NLE for HDV work.

Good luck!
