QUESTION ABOUT DVD LABELS!!!
Posted by Chim Bubba on July 14th, 2003

Does anyone know of a program or anything that makes the DVD INSERTS
for the booklets. Is there anything that is pre-cut to fit in a
booklet? What do the majority of you people do for the dvd's that you
create? What do you use for the dvd inserts?

Thanks

Office Max sells things like that, I believe. I know they have them for music CD's.

Sorry for the monster link, that's just the way it copied. 'www.neato.com'
is where it's headed. Quality products.

How about a program that has the correct template for the DVD case inserts?

Media Face 4 does not seem to have them, I can print them on glossy photo
paper, just need the software that has the template.

@ Chim Bubba,

Suggest CD Box Labeler Pro v1.9.8.1026 by Green Point Software
(www.gpsoftuk.com)

This program has the template for DVD inserts (booklet type) which you
can print on a sheet of 110 lb heavy card stock readily available at
most office supply stores.

Regards
Fred

Jacket, Case, and Disc labels are automatically prepared by DVD Complete

If you are referring to the 5 1/4" x 7 1/2" x 9/16" Amary and/or Alpha
type black plastic cases, then the only program that I know of that has the
insert template for these DVD cases is Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator 6.

I use this program - http://www.coverxp.com/main.asp

I prints the covers nicely with guidelines at each end for cutting (for
which I use a knife & straight edge over scissors!!)

Use your favorite software....like Corel or Paint Shop Pro. Set up
a template once and use it forever.....free...Been doing it for years.

Well, you "can" print with inkjets but it's expensive in the long run. If
you're doing one or two copies, ht's fine, but if you're doing a production run
you should go with silk screening. Most good replication houses will do
silk-screening for you.

So far, EVERY inkjet-printable DVD I've tried has fallen way short of its
non-printable brothers in the "compatibility" department.

Microsoft Publisher will let you create templates for this. You can do the
front, back and spines. Just measure out the sizes and use the rulers in
Publisher to make your frames. Then, you can just change the text and
pictures as you wish. I would never stick a label on a DVD, since it might
ruin it or make it spin off balance.

I just use the Windows Xp fax viewer and print from there....the size is
almost perfect for the full cover insert..including spine. Just trim off a
little around the edges and there ya go.

There is an indirect transfer method to get DVD printed without actually
sticking a label directly onto it. There is such a DVD/CD labeler made by
TDK.

How did you get the right measurements for the DVD inserts. Did you

I may not have been clear to the many who have responded but I am
looking for the dvd insert maker. The insert is for the dvd case not
to place a cover on top of the dvd.
Thanks

I use a Brother P-Touch label machine to create tiny labels for my DVDs.
Does not seem to cause any reading problems.
Any full label solution I tried caused at least some DVDs not to read
properly.

Forget the prefab booklets.... next to impossible to line up
correctly....

Just print on paper.. and cut them out.
