I am researching some video editing software to buy and I was wondering
if it is possible to import MP3's into Ulead VideoStudio 11 Plus for
use as background music.

You can in 10+, so I would expect you can in 11+.

you can usually download PDF versions of the
User's Manuals for such programs.
Another point; you could check the current features
listed for a number of programs by defining your needs
in the search engine of the "Tools" listings at :
www.videohelp.com
There is also a predefined search for "Advanced Editors"
