If you want ultimate video performance, no. But on today's powerful
computers, with lots of fast memory, running video "native" rather
than on dedicated hardware can be perfectly adequate for un-demanding
2D applications. Like showing video.

Yes it "can be adequate", how will you know if this one is or not??

Some are less than adeqate, spend a few more dollars and get better than
adequate for editing video or you run the risk of wasting all your dough.
