- Recording date time in Premiere Pro
- Posted by F.Snoeren on October 10th, 2003
Hi,
My source is a JVC DV camera type gr-dx300
How can I bring up the recording date and time in Premiere pro?
Also in the edited movie I would like to see the date and time info in the
playback screen.
I was used to do this in the past with my analog camara.
regards,
Frans

I think the reason you were able to do this with an analogue camera is
because the date and time are actually part of the picture. That is unless
you do some clever masking when you import the picture into Premier you
can't get rid of the date and/or time.
If you want to include the date and time in a dv edit, I guess this depends
wether the camera allows you to output this as part of the picture.

Dave

PP doesn't offer access to the date/time track -- neither does any other
editor. If you just 'need to know' use Scenalyzer Live -- it will reveal
the the data in a text box outside the image area.
Then trigger 'display' on the playback device -- the data is still there &
survives the edit/export ... push 'display' and it will appear.
Analog formats either burned the data into the visible image area for all
time, or it wasn't there, period. You couldn't trigger display on playback,
only on recording.
