reducing frame rate on Vegas 4
Posted by Tim Mitchell on August 1st, 2003

Hello, I've been using Premiere for quite a while, it has a "posterise
time" filter which allows you to drop alternate fields giving a filmic
stroby look to the picture. (i.e. 50 fields per sec to 25 fields per
sec). You do lose half the resolution, but it's still a useful effect
sometimes. There's also a deinterlace fields option which has the same
effect.

I've been playing with a demo copy of Vegas 4, and you don't seem to be
able to do this. It has some film look filters but these just add noise
and scratch effects, they leave the frame rate at the full 50 fps so it
doesn't look very filmy. Am I missing something obvious?

Hi,
rightclick any clip in the timeline and open the "properties"
dialog. You will be able to modify playback speed and
framerate as you whish.
