Sonic mydvd causes system failure at boot
Posted by Gordon Abbot on January 8th, 2004

Win 98se, 1.2 gig athlon cpu, 120, 80 gig hds.

I got sonic mydvd with my Sony 510a. Installed it and at computer
re-boot get a blue screen vxd error and system freezes during re-boot.
Restart in safe mode, remove it and all is well.

I have tried one thing which I found on the web that was related to this
problem, which is to relocate 45 files to the sonic folder and register
10 files but that did not help.

After installation and before I reboot I ran Norton windoctor and it
indicated that sonic had several files (dll's) that had no links. when I
try to start mydvd (before reboot) it indicates mpegcheck.dll failed and
will not start.

My guess is I will have to shift to XP, but anyone have this problem and
solved it in 98se?
