I've owned my Sony TRV900 digital camcorder for 5 years with no problem
until yesterday. While using the camera's palm grip to film, the tape would
automatically eject on the average every minute or so. I closed the tape
door (using the small "PUSH" button) and confirmed that the "Eject" button
was positioned properly, but the problem kept repeating itself. I tried to
avoid putting significant hand pressure on the tape door while filming, but
that didn't seem to have any impact. In fact, the tape would automatically
eject sometimes even when I wasn't filming (but the power was on).

Any ideas on what might be happening? I did switch to a metallic tape from
Sony for this filming but other than not using the camcorder for 2 months I
could not find any other "coincidence" that might explain this behavior.
