Sony Vegas video editing - Working with Stills
Posted by Barks on February 12th, 2007

There is one thing I really like about Liquid Edition and Adobe After
Effects. I can take in a still picture and it doesn't automatically
convert the picture to 640x480 (or whatever you are working in). It
will keep the resolution of the actual picture so you can zoom in w/o
loss of quality. I am thinking about getting Sony Vegas and wonder if
it can also bring in stills keeping the resolution? My adobe Premier
6 was not able to do that.

up to 2,000 x 2,000 pixels without resizing. Premiere Pro handles up to
4,000 x 4,000 pixels.

Yes, it can do this. I forget the setting to turn it on and off at the
track level. You have a choice of auto resize or not. And of course you
can do all the standard pans, scans and zooms. There is a nice plug in
called Excalibur that has some nice pan, scan and slideshow automation
tools.
