Studio 9 doesn't like Camstudio frame rate?
Posted by Fatfreek on April 28th, 2008

I'm capturing some screen shot sequences using Camstudio (a free app).

I then import that avi to Camstudio 9. However, when I drag the clip down
to the timeline, I get the message "You have added a clip to this project
that uses a non-standard video frame rate. This may cause AV-sync problems
during Make Movie."

Should I heave both these applications overboard and start over?

Sounds like you are using the default settings for Camstudio. Go into
settings and change to 29.97 frames/sec (or 30). I think the default
is 15. Also can change video settings to increase resolution for
better quality. The higher quality or faster frame rate will limit
time for capture as temp memory limitations. I didn't look further to
try to resolve this, I just cut the audio quality down to almost
nothing (as I replace the audio anyway); can't eliminate it
completely. The audio takes up a lot of memory. I now capture
1920x1080 at 29.97 and get very good results when merged with my HDV
clips. For what you have already, the operative word is "may" cause
problems. Try a short clip and see. Maybe it's another junk
potential error message?

Thanks, Scubajam, for sharing. I'll dig into your suggestions.
