I was on the point of buying a DVD player to run my VCD,SVCD ,JPG
disks which I preepare on my PC when my TV died.

Now that I have to replace ther TV I am wondering wether I can get
better performance etc by choosing the DVD player and TV models in
such a way as to complement each other ; or does it not matter?

The TV set will NOT be Plasma or widwscreen , just a basic
traditional set !
