video capturing

I own a Sony MICROMV model DCR-IP5E which was purchased some 1.5 years ago
in Hong Kong.
So far I was not able to capture anything taken from that camera to my
computer.
I have tried to connect my camera to a computer with i.Link card. That
computer has two installed
well known capturing softwares (Primier and Pinacle), but capturing from my
camera is not possible, although
I have seen on the same computer capturing from another Sony camera
(different model).

I have bought the camera with a software package called MovieShaker, which I
have managed to loose.

My computer runs Xp.

I am desparate about all this and need an advice from anybody who had
experienced capturing with this camera.

Thanks!

Amit.

MicroMV is Sony's propreity format - it does things differently to MiniDV -
which is what most people use for video editing.

The only software that will work with MicroMV that I know of is Pinnacle
Studio 8 (make sure you get latest updates). I guess MovieShaker should
work(?) but Studio 8 is a much better program once you get it running.

You might want to try DVIO. It's free and very
simple, no preview, but few dropped frames or
crashes, at least in XP. dvdrhelp.com
