- Vista AVI Repair Tool
- Posted by Mr.Illini@gmail.com on February 21st, 2007
Hey all,
I recently upgraded to Vista Business from XP. On XP I ran the
program "my private folder" and on their I had music videos and diary
entires. Took me a while to find them but after restoring them, none
of the music videos work, they all come up with the error message
C00D1199 and the error code 80040265. After downloading every
possible codec and programs thats detect what codec is needed I am
confident the files are corrupt. Does anyone know how to repair these
files? Thanks in advance.

Microsoft killed that program a while ago, so perhaps Vista just won't
let it work.

Should we keep a list of all the things that Vista kills,
or does anybody care?

hmmm. installing new codecs shold not have corrupted the files. If the files
are not intact now a tool to fix the files might be in order. It may not
have been a codec issue. Try exporting a small one from the drive and see if
it will play on a different computer.
