What video scan does a video card send to a TVset through S-video: interlaced or progressive?

Hello!
What video scan does an ATI All-in-Wonder 128 card send to a TVset
through S-video: interlaced or progressive?
I want to watch DivX movies on a big TVset from ATI All-In-Wonder 128
from my computer. Should I pay more for a progressive scan capable TV?
Best regards,
Dima

Thank you Tim for your answers!
Do DivX movies from the video card look worse on TV than on a monitor
because the card outputs Interlaced video?
