- detect wireless card
- Posted by Dal Magro Clemente on June 5th, 2004
hi all
that problem really drives me crazy! i'm looking for a way to distinguish
different network interfaces, namely: LAN interfaces from WLAN
interfaces. does anybody have an idea how it is possible to determine
whether a certain interface card is a wireless- or a cable lan adapter?
a good strategy would be to check the protocol (cable lan: 802.3,
wireless lan: 802.1x), but how is this possible? if anybody has a better
detection scheme i'm open for any suggestions! the solution should
work for windows 2000 professional and all the follow up win versions.
thanx in advance for all hints!
ciao, clemi.
