which .dll file has "connect to" dialog box in XP?
Posted by D. Fox on August 21st, 2003

I support a computer lab on a university campus, and we would like to
disable the ability of a user to check the "remember my password"
option on the "connect to" dialog box that comes up when a student
goes to start->run->\\servername on our Windows XP boxes.

I've not been able to google up much at all, actually, NOTHING, on
this particular subject, but some advice I've received suggested using
a resource editor to modify the .dll file that contains the "connect
to" dialog box to my specifications, and then simply copy the modified
..dll to lab pc's. Makes sense to me...with Resource Tuner, I can open
and modify .dll's, but I can't seem to find the one that acutally
contains the "connect to" box....can anyone point me in the right
direction?

Or, for that matter, if anyone has a simpler suggestion to disable the
caching of network (NOT internet passwords - this is not a browser
issue) passwords in XP, I'd be much obliged.

Thanks,
Dave
