I'm toying with the idea of writing a print
quota manager and releasing it as open
source software. The only really hard
part is finding the hooks in the printing
subsystem that would allow me to intercept
print requests on the server to check to
make sure the user has enough pages in
their quota.

Does anybody have any advice on where
this hook might be, or to documents that
might help (I know about the standard MSDN
docs and the other stuff that searching the
Microsoft web site turns up)?
