Hardware test submission to Winqual problem
Posted by Long Ta on April 27th, 2005

Hello,

I am creating a submission for a hardware product, a PCI device, for my
company and I have two questions.

1. During creating the submission as a 'First-time hardware and driver test
submission', in step 9, 'Select PnP IDs', there is no ID for me to select. I
think this is kind of odd. Firgure 15-24 on page 766 of the book,
'Programming the Microsfot Windows Driver Model', Walter Oney, shows an
example of this page, in which a PnP ID is shown to be selected for a mouse
hardware being submitted. Please explane this.

2. I went on the pass this step any way. Almost at the end, there was a red
statement saying that I am not required to submit any hardware for this
submission. I thought this is also odd. How come I am not required to send
in the hardware while I am submitting a hardware for testing? Can anyone shed
some light on this.

Thank you.
