The user can safely remove the usb device via system tray icon
on Windows ME. I would write a program to perform the safely
remove operation.

CM_Request_Device_Eject can perform safe remove operation
on Windows 2000/XP. But it is not supported on Windows ME.

How does the program to do this on Wondows ME?

I posted a similar question in thius group without knowing that you have the
same problem. I could not find anything on the web on this so I guess we are
at the mercy of MS devs who might read this.
