- IRDA Windows Interface to embedded device
- Posted by John Flynn on December 22nd, 2004
Hello,
I want to send messages between a machine running Windows XP and an
embedded device (the architecture and OS still have to be defined).
The preferred interface is IrDA. I was hoping to use IrCOMM to act as
if it was a serial port interface but this is deprecated in XP. The
new mechanism is sockets.
I am concerned what the requirements would be for that the embedded
device to be able to connect to the Windows XP system using a socket.
Does anyone know which OS would support this without development. Or
is there an IrDA stack that would require no or minimal development.
If anyone has connected an non-embedded system to a Windows Xp system
I would be keen to hear from you to get some advice.
Thanks,
J
