Null driver WHQL signing
Posted by Andrew Webber on February 10th, 2005

Is it possible to obtain WHQL certification for a null driver? I
have created an “inf” file modeled after the form specified in the
following MSDN webpage:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...f16cd1.xml.asp

This “null” driver can only install with administrative permission. I
would like to obtain WHQL signing for my “inf” file so that it will
install unattended. Is this possible? What steps do I need to take to
proceed?

You might be able to get one - It all depends on the device class. WHQL
policies are different from one device class to another.

Contact them directly

Or post your question in this newsgroup: microsoft.public.windowsxp.winlogo

Andrew -
Are you willing to share your inf file? I'm trying to get one to work
modelled after the same article, and am having an error that I can't resolve.
See my post in this group.

I'd love to have a look at yours, maybe it'll give me a clue...

Thanks
