The DDK tightened its build requirements a while back. That's why you
stumbled across this check. I don't recommend removing things from the
DDK. Instead, use DDKBUILD or equivalent. I use it all the time, it works
nicely, and it is a legimate DDK build with a Visual Studio front end.
Look for instances of DDKBUILD at www.hollistech.com or at www.osr.com.
