Done. I put inf into windows\inf directory and all needed files ( sys, cat ,
bin ) into some directory , path to which , I set into registry key
SourcePath in the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Setup
and PnP manager install driver without questions

Hi Arkady,

What if user won't attach your device? the altered setup path will remain in the registry,
how you are going to restore it?

AFAIK many people just remove copyfiles section from the INF (which they put into %windir%\inf)
and copy all driver files manually to their final location.

Anyway, hope you find win98 a bit less horrible than WinCE

Have great holidays,

Already found this :-) WinCE is just buggy in some places. Some documented
stuff works in a lame way.

if it cannot see needed files there, dialog box of
manager will be pop up , btw even I set it only and not include it into
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\InstallLocationsMRU ,which
used to fill list part of that combo , no problems ocure.

binary files which needed and mentioned in other sections , maybe if driver
have no cat and single sys that work but not in my case .

For win98 questions?! Not at the Winhec. In some technical museum, maybe.
