It is asynchronous.
You did not answer my question. You show a PortMon log again, but this does
not explain what happens in your code. For example, does you code see
IRP_MJ_READ? Does it handle it correctly? What is the status code of
IoCallDriver() when you pass it down? What happens next and so on. PortMon
is just the wrong tool to answer such questions.
I'm cross-posting this message to a specialized driver-development
newsgroup, which is more appropriate than win32.kernel for this kind of
questions.
