- Secrity patches vs Checked OS's
- Posted by Tom V S on August 15th, 2003
My be this is out of topic.
I couldnt install the security patches on my Windows XP/2000 checked OS's.
The windows update fails. Downloading the patch and installing them directly
dint work either, it complains that it cannot install the patches on a
Checked OS's. I am wondering how did you guys manage to install ?

Tom,
Checked versions of hotfixes are usually not available until the next
service pack and the setup code in hotfixes (enbedded in the .exe) usually
a) checks to make sure that the patch being applied matches the system it
is being applied to and b) makes sure the patch is newer.
