Problem installing Halo:combat evolved

Every time i try to install halo.......it reaches the 65% mark at a good
speed but it stops there and then tells that it has encountered a problem
copying bitmaps.map i have intalled and re installed the game about 12 or 13
times but it stops at that mark.Can anyone help me out with this and tell me
why this problem occurs and what is the solution for this.i request u guys to
to give me the solution please.....

Hello.

Try copying the contents of the CD onto your hard drive.... For example
copy to C:\halosetup\ and run the setup program from there. If it installs
successfully you can delete it from C:\halosetup\

If that doesn't work try installing in safe mode - to boot into safe mode
reboot your machine and press F6 several times before the Windows XP logo
would usually appear, you'll be presented with a menu, select 'safe mode'
your machine will now boot up with the minimum required components (which it
why it'll look a bit weird). Try running the setup program again.
