- Sims 2 installation seems to freeze up
- Posted by MysteriousWendi on February 5th, 2006
When installing Sims 2 it freezes up on the 2nd disc and will not go past
23%. Is this just a bad disc (don't see any marks on it). I have windows
xp. This is the only game I can't install.

click on start button & go to
accessories, then click on the
command prompt & type: chkdsk /f then press enter
& answer with ''y'' for yes, then reboot your computer.
the reason for this is to check for enough disk space
so you re- install your cd- disks. let me know what happens.

I finally got to the 3rd disk and now get an error message that states...a
problem occurred when trying to transfer the file '
TSData/Res/Sound/RnB.package ' from the media.

Try copying the disk to your hard drive. When the installation prompts
for the 3rd disk, enter the path where you have copied it to.

hhhmm, odd? ok. can you load it in the add/remove program?
which basically works. but I assume that your registry
may be corrupted just a little. I have the same type computer you have.
hhhhmmm. I'll have to figure this one out by tomorrow.
