- Posted by Helia on January 31st, 2006
I've just bought the sims complete collection but when i tried to install it
a message appeared saying that i hadn't enough space, that 3600MB were needed
and i had 0MB free. I actually have 14G of free space. Can somebody help
me??? thanks.

Hi Helia,
Let's try a couple of things to get that working for you:
1. Startup your system in SAFE MODE by pressing F8 repeatedly
while your system is booting up after you've shut down your system
2. Log in with an account you've created as a "Computer Administrator"
account that you'll use to play the game, but don't use a Limited account.

hi Jimmy.
Basically i search the internet for this type of error and although i
couldn't find anything specific i found out that a problem either with virus
and spywares or a error in the full.exe file ( which i don't know nor what
nor where it is!) could be the cause. i really don't understand much about
computers. I've run a sweep for virus and spywares and that didn't solve it.
Full.exe i don't really know where it is or what to do.

Hi Helia,
Ok, so the problem has been reported on the Internet before
with this game, however the known solutions didn't work...
When you log into your computer again in Safe Mode with a
BRAND NEW Administrator account, I would like you to try
to select a CUSTOM installation method and specify where
you want the game to be installed to, which will be a folder you
have created in advance as follows:
C:\Program Files\EAGames\Sims
Let's hope that works! :-)

to install the sims in custom mode .... arrrgghhh ... I think i will format

Hi Helia,
If you format your hard drive, all data on it will be wiped clean.
Therefore, yes you would have to reinstall Windows.. Have
you contacted Sims support first though? Their contact info can
be found in the manual / packaging for that game.
