nonething i have done helps...i get it downloaded but then it won't
play...now i think its downloaded because it is saved on my computer.....but
i went to blizzard web site and it said computers with windows xp have to
play and download it under administrator account...........now what the heck
is that.......ok here is what it said.....
If you are using Windows XP/2000 or Mac OSX please be sure you are logged on
as an administrator account when installing the game. If the game is not
installed on an administrator account, computer permissions can prevent the
installation from completing. We cannot support the game on a
non-administrator account. can some please tell me what this means
please....i am about to trash them all i can't play the expansion set with
out getting tides of darkness downloaded.....thanks Patsy

Hi Memaw,
Lets see if you're using an Administrator account
Click START > Control Panel > User Accounts
You'll see a list of user accounts and their avatars
Is your account set as a "Computer Administrator"
or is the account set as a "Limited Account"?

ok, this is a dos game right? try using DOSBox
http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/news.php?show_news=1
"DOSBox emulates an Intel x86 PC, complete with sound, graphics, mouse,
modem, etc., necessary for running many old DOS games that simply cannot be
run on modern PCs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows 2000,
Windows XP, Linux and FreeBSD. However, it is not restricted to running only
games. In theory, any DOS application should run in DOSBox, but the emphasis
has been on getting DOS games to run smoothly, which means that
communication, networking and printer support are still in early
developement."
generally usage. (you need basic DOS commands and experience here)
run DOSBox - a dos prompt appears
mount C C:\warcraft2 - eg of your war2 folder/directory
cd warcraft2
type war2 or warcraft2 or whatever command to start the game
In game proformance
CTRL-F7 = Decreases frameskip
CTRL-F8 = Increases Frameskip
CTRL-F11 = Slows down the game
CTRL-F12 = Speeds up the game
