I asked this aaaages ago, got some really good replies!
One of them we're to make lables and stick them on the beer bottles.... they
turned out really well and people thought they were great!!
I can't remember what the other ones were but i'm sure they'd still be on

- Cigar tubes with the invitation rolled in it,
- Plastic miniature cards, with the invitation replacing the technical
datasheet
- CD's with the invitation on a label you make (with maybe a happy birthday
song on the cd or so..
- if you have the cash, maybe a T-shirt with the date, invitation info, and
stuff on it.
check out the packaging designer's book of patterns, they have tons of
packaging ideas, and go to the largest IT, design or art bookstore and have
a flip through the books to see what you can find ;o)

What about fortune cookies with custom messages?

Does the party have a theme - try and choose an invite which relates to the
theme or location etc.

Baseball-style cards with the Birthday Person's picture and info. You can
print it on your inkjet, even.

i wish we had something like that around... the best we have is Chapters,
and that kinda sucks after you've spent a couple days sitting in the store
reading all their books cuz ur too cheap to buy them and/or have no
cash.....
thanks for the ideas though!!!

Just print them on heavy card stock and cut them out.
