- Browser check request...
- Posted by Les Woods on June 10th, 2004
Hi folks,
Just updating my site to conform to my new company identity and I was
wondering if any PC users out there could let me know of any problems with
it displaying the services & portfolio pages etc - I have tried it on Opera
on Windows 95 and it seems ok on that, but other browser checks would be
appreciated.
Its on my test server - here is the link...

Many thanks for all and any feedback!
Kind regards

Deeeelightful. WinXP, 1024x768.
An excellent example of the "no real text" approach. Very well done, well
organized and QUICK. Nice work, Les.

It's a nice site, but search engines will choke on it. Change all of the
text so that it's not images, use layers to float the text over your image.

Cheers Dan, glad you like - the site is acting as an online business card
for me, I refer potential clients to it and by just placing the most
important information (what I do and what I've done) it keeps things nice
and simple and makes them contact me for more detailed information - this is
where I push for that all important face to face meeting if I've not met
them already...
BTW, my 2nd client just paid the balance of his bill on delivery of his
stationery and is over the moon and showing it off to his suppliers and
anyone who happens to walk by his office! :}
Kind regards

Thanks for the advice Miranda, most appreciated! As I just mentioned to Dan,
I'm just using it as a referral point for potential clients which I've
targeted at the moment but once I begin to rely upon it for new enquiries
and as an actual marketing tool I will be addressing these issues (thanks to
Hunter Elliot too, who emailed me off group to suggest the same thing!) -
one step at a time for me at the moment...
Kind regards

just perfect. The last line of text is touching the image, that's why.

Thanks Lime!
I've put the site online now after updating the way the portfolio works -
some rollover buttons for the numbers as well as links to the websites which
weren't there before.
I have to say I usually use Adobe Golive for my sites, but it mangles the
javascript rollovers and doesnıt handle tables as well (splitting a cell
makes it go bananas in golive but without a glitch in Dreamweaver),
Dreamweaver excels at pretty much everything so I'm making the move to
Dreamweaver once my 30 day trial runs out!
Kind regards
