A friend of mine had it a few years back and she has no regrets. Of course,
it really depends on how miserable you are pre-surgery. You probably have
to weigh the problems you're having with your carpel tunnel against the
surgery cost, pain and recovery time.

When I noticed I was working 10 and 12 hour days again, it seemed like a

Oooh. So, you're making a decision within the next couple of months.
Yikes.
Possibly get a second opinion? I know medical care seems to have lost the
personal touch over the years. I find myself doing more and more research
via Google on things like that. I guess it all boils down to how much pain
and inconvenience you're dealing with now. If you figure it couldn't be
much worse with the surgery recovery, I'd say 'go for it'.
