- copyright issue

i think i know the answer to this but just need it confirmed.
a client wants an illustration of a famous person in their logo. the
illustration is taken from a photo that neither myself or the client owns
or has rights to it. It is also different to what's in the photo (eg.
wearing pair of glasses), but is still clearly identifiable as THAT
person.
your thoughts?

Woodsie,
I am guessing that you will need the OK from the famous person, their
estate or whatever. Especially since their likeness will be used in an
identity.

I agree with Combi on this one, however if you need legal confirmation you
can call/email an Intellectual Property lawyer that I highly recommend:
http://www.choylawyers.com.au/ or email the Copyright Council
http://www.copyright.org.au/ I once needed assistance on a copyright issue
so I emailed the Copyright Council, got an answer after a few days.
