get your mojos working...

on my behalf today (this week), please. I'm hoping for word on regular,
plentiful, production work that will allow me to upgrade equipment and
apps...finally! All I need do is acclimate myself with their workflow
and product line; the production work itself is simple with the right
tools. Yes, I had to audition, but not on a usable piece. I had to jump
through hoops with my old system due to converting versions, missing
apps and different platform, but I think I nailed it.

While it's hard to get excited about production work, it's simple,
straightforward layout to their template. It will give me the ability to
upgrade, do wonders for our financial stability, and allow me to relax
and focus on my own creative projects.

In short, I need this, so cross your fingers

inez, I have my fingers crossed and I sending my most positive vibes.
I am someone who can get excited about production work. It can be very
good paying for someone of your caliber.

Mojo, such that it is, is turned to high and pointed your way. Go get
them girl.

Don't ever denigrate production work. It feeds a lot of people, funds
much of the creativity in the world, and it is a set of skills that many
"artists" can never master. Let's face it, painting the ceiling of the
Sistine Chapel involved a lot of production work, too. Without it, what
would be there?

Fingers, toes and eyes crossed.

Might check into the SBA (www.sba.gov). Having a paying gig/contract is
usually all that is necessary for a micro loan. Being you're in the Katrina
foot print this should work to your favor.

We've seen your work and would be willing to send recommendation on studio
letter head) if it would help the process.

Thank you. I'll let you know on the recommendation. Hopefully my
audition piece will do the trick.

As for $$, we just took the leap of a small equity loan. Scary as hell
since we gave up all credit 13-yrs. ago, but we need to do some things
a.s.a.p. Fixed rate, no prepay penalty. We intend to pay back a lump
right away since we didn't "need" the minimum amount required. I hate
having our house back on the block since we had it paid for, but it is
what it is. Hopefully this work will get us free of the loan pretty fast
and we can get back on track, ya' know?

You go girl.

Financial advisers will tell you to NOT pay that loan back early. The
reasoning? Let's say you got that loan at 5-6%. You'll never get money
that cheap. Instead of paying it off, invest. Safe examples over the
past 5 years have the DOW up 50% and the S&P up 60%. That math is pretty
easy even taking into account this current downturn. Put your money in
Blue Chips and companies you use and have faith in. Invest locally.

Just my 2¢.

Good mojo going out in your general direction.

Now all I have to do is decide on and buy all my upgrades, atleast the
absolute necessities for the work. It's straight production work, but
once I'm set up it should be easy-peasy and I'll have all the work I can
handle. Finally, I get broadband access! 21st century, here I come! 8¬)

ACK! I've spent WAY too much money and still don't have the monitors! I
am not used to spending money, much less spending into debt. I can't
wait to get the stuff and use it, but I'm scared to death over this debt
because it's our home, ya' know? My Murphy's Law personality is
screaming bloody murder right now. LOL!

Now I have to chap out on a monitor and probably have to wait on the 2nd
unless my LaCie can be fixed reasonably. EESH!
