Just wondering what everyone's take is on this. Personally I only think the
difference between the two are the names? Some say the positions are
totally different, please elaborate.

My guess is that an artist produces art as is, without a client. An
artist will look for a client to buy his art later on... A graphic
designer produces also art, but got many requirements from his client
and will produce something his clients want and likes, not what he
likes himself. I guess a graphic artist can fully express himself in
its art, a graphic designer will translate the requests of a client
into art. Am I right, or am I thinking the wrong way?

Same exact thing, just two different names. You can also use the term
"Communication Artist" as well. They're all interchangable...

Graphic Designers are usually considered better than Graphic Artists
because they can land on pitching carriers decks. Even at night.

I would suggest a GD creates a rough of what system, layout, navigation etc.
is required [i.e. what to use and where it goes and soforth], the GA then
fills in the gaps ... OR Barton could be right .... depends from which neck
of the woods you're from! ..... My point of view is a Bonnie Scottish one

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
Just as I thought...the census seems a bit gray.
I was inquiring because I'm currenty out of work and with the economy
sucking, the jobs just haven't been out there. So I just wanted to make my
resume the most appealing as possible and I thought that may be an issue.
