- Looking for Feedback on Logo samples
- Posted by FISH on July 2nd, 2004
Hello all,
I'm in the process of changing our business logo and wanted to get some
feedback from you guys and gals (the experts). I thought it might be best to
just give the logo designs and not much information about what we do as to
get your feelings on the designs. I can obviously give you as much info
about our company as possible if you feel that will help as well.
I just thought it might be helpful to get your feedback on the designs all
by themselves. I know the company information is key to matching a design
with the company, but I was just looking to get your opinions on the actual
designs and what they might represent to you.
Here's the link:

Let me know what you think. Also let me know if not giving info on the
company is a good idea or simply foolish as that has everything to do with
whether or not the design is a good one...lol.

lol. hey you guys, look, the *gals the are experts.
depends. if you're the designer asking for feedback then specs are a good
thing.
if you're looking for general reaction to something you've already got then no
info is might get the most unbiased assessment.
if you're fishing for email addresses to spam everyone with diet patch crap
then ...that's b-a-a-a-d.

They all look pretty bad to me. Maybe it's the colour. Maybe it's because
they are generic.

pretty shapes and a font doesn't make a logo.

Have to know what you do to know if the logo says that...also helps to the
know the company name to see if the logo reflects the name at all.
For example #7 might be perfect if you are a fighter jet school.......8
might be great if your name is Crystal Corp...get my drift?

OUCH! Logo is just not your thing, I'm afraid. Eight attemps, no concept.
Generic shapes combined with bad type...
It's ok; no all designers are cut for logo making... just give the job to
somebody able.

LOL... I'm not the designer. I'm actually the client. I wasn't very happy
with these either so I thought I'd see what you guys thought as you
obviously know what makes up a good logo. I was thinking I was just being
hard on the designs...guess not...lol.
They are way to generic and just basic shapes. No real creativity or
representation of what we do or who we are as a company.
I guess this goes to show you, "you get what you pay for".
Thanks again for the feedback. Maybe I repost once I get some real designs
to get feedback on.

Interesting technique to get someone else to decide what is good for you.

I think the lesson learned is much more than just that you get what you pay
for. You also get what you ask for. You know your business and what you
want your logo to do for you better than anyone, don't settle for anything
less than that.

Michael,
With all due respect. I gave the designer PLENTY of information on our
company and what I'd be looking for in the new logo. I gave the designer
detailed guidelines on what I'd like to see in the new logo.
I gave him some background on the company, what makes us unique, what I'd
like the logo to express to our clients, and actually a few ideas.
Oh' well, back to the drawing board.

But, did you give them ample time and budget in order to explore and develop
various options?
Did you choose a designer with a proven track record in identity design?
Just curious

I gave him as much time as he needed (no time limit was set). The mistake I
made was not choosing the "right" designer.
