It's only multiples of 9 that will ever result from this methodology; and as
such, they all have the same symbol in the grid - the symbol that will
appear in the ball.

because it's a math trick. It seems that any combination of 2 digit numbers,
added together and then subtracted from the original number will always be a
multiple of 9 - just some kind of weird occurrence. If you look at the
numbers/symbols you will notice that all of the multiples of nine are always
next to the same symbol, therefore guaranteeing that you will see the
correct image in the crystal ball. The symbols change when you retry just so
you wont notice.
