my Epson 1200 (used with Adobe PressReady)just died and I'm looking for
a postscript printer for OSX that we can use for proofing, finished
art. I use mostly quark... Not interested in just PDFing files and
printing as this never yields the color quality that my
epson/pressready duo did.

The best is probably the new Epson 4000. It's pricey, however, running $1800 or
so.
An excellent alternative is the Epson 2200, for about $650.
