Inez, I have a cable modem, but we hooked it up to our network. Don't think
they should disconnect your modem. We used to get lots of downtime with DSL,
but the cable connection is awesome and is close to T1 speed. I had digital
phone too. I switched back because of lousy customer service and couldn't
pay my bill online.

Actually, I got a welcome back package. Free for 3 months. I've only paid
$25 the first month for some installation charge. 2nd & 3rd months, only
paid long distance. Our local telecom is Qwest. I would not recommend their
DSL. I had ATT digital phone. I could never figure out the voice mail.
