I don't like how the thumbnails look neither.
Yesterday night I read through the thread and it was really informative. The
posters have written a lot of informations, anyway the overall discussion
worth only as a starting point for the reader. It's necessary to pick up all
the infos and compare them with the numerous one written over the web and
into the technical books published for the topic.
IMHO isn't an issue related to the image resolution.
I think the sharpen filter has been applied more than once before to get
into this terrible effect!
