- Recommended Monitor for Color Correcting?
- Posted by TB on September 28th, 2005
I've been using clunky old SuperMac monitors for almost a decade now but
it's just become too much of a hassle dealing with specialized video cards
to make them display properly in newer Gx towers so I'm starting to look at
current monitors that will give me accurate, rich colors for print
publishing and digital photo correction. I'll probably stick with direct
view monitors as I've found flat screens are a pain in the ass to get
certain colors (like yellows and other warmer colors) to display
consistently and of course, if you view from any angle other then looking
straight on at just a certain level, you're hosed.
Any recommendations?

You should see the new glass-fronted Xerox XA7 FP monitors. It uses the
new MVA panels from AU Optronics which have excellent colour rendition
over wide viewing angles.
After having (briefly) used one myself I can finally make the
long-awaited transition to FP. I'll be gleefully looking forward to the
extra desk-space.
