- School Daze - a new photo exhibition
- Posted by Mads Pedersen on October 20th, 2003
Hi group,
The school I went to as a kid has been shut down and is about to be
demolished. A fine day not too long ago I went back to the school for the
first time in (counting on fingers) 13 years.
I took a stroll on the school grounds and in parts of what used to be my
home town. Although the abandoned school and the town had obviously changed
it still made me remember a lot of things about my school days and about
growing up.
I brought back some photos for my digital shoebox. These photos tell a story
of my school daze.

A lonely desolate feeling bleeds through the beautiful sunny,
blue-skyed backdrop. This is an interesting combination of elements,
Mads. The emptiness creates a palpable tension, at least for me.
Very nice as usual.

That's beautiful, and yet so sad.
Interestingly, the architecture is very similar to the style of very new
school buildings here

I left the exhibition with an overwhelming feeling of sadness, Mads...maybe
for me more than the others as I've actually lived in Denmark for a long
time and this brought back memories of my own, specially those old
not-so-nice pubs and discos... I've played in a lot of them all over
Denmark...
I give it a 13! (A+ for you americans)
