Thanks for all your input!

I'll bite cause it's late, i'm bored and sleep isn't coming readily. lol
software:
Adobe photoshop, illustrator, premier.
Macromedia dreamweaver, flash, fireworks, authorware
notepad! SERIOUSLY! :-)
irfanview (wicked good little utility for batch processing)
microangelo (icon and cursor creation software, pretty decent)
sonic foundry soundforge
discreet media cleaner (used to be terran interactive now it belongs to
autodesk)
swish max (handy for quick flash text animations to be imported.
sothink swf decompiler for looking at actionscript that is impressive!
C
Visual C++
DOS (come on, it rules and you guys know it)
ws_ftp pro
python
java 2
these are my "can't do withouts"
Hardware:
HP, Dell, IBM systems
ATI and NVidia cards 32meg and up
Logitech peripherals
HP periphrals
Epson Printers
Sony D8 cam
fuji digi-cam
polk audio systems
I like and use all this stuff on a daily basis (well pretty much dependent
on what i'm working on)
I do like SGI and MAC, i just find them too expensive when comparable stuff
can be achieved with a PC these days. Of course I'm not talking about heavy
duty rendering, in which case I woudl gladly employ either of these two. The
costs are exhorbitant though on production systems by these two, guess
that's what comes with lousy market share.
as for OS's, browsers and the like, I don't care as long as they can handle
what is supposed to go in em.
cheers
Dave

Xerox 6065 Workstation, Xerox XDE Software - both circa 1990. Anyone of you
who may have worked on these would know what I mean.
I have a OS 9.2 G4 i work in tandem with a 2.8ghz P4. I have Xp, PS and MsW
on both machines. They are both networked with PC MacLan which I highly
recommend.
I think it's bad that we got lied to by this administration. I think its bad
that we (californians) rode Gray Davis outta town on a rail for having a 71
billion dollar budget and we don't say squat about Arnold's 79 billion
dollar budget.

"Reusable Modular Network Based Interface Engines" a design concept that

I really like the Adobe and Macromedia suites - as do most here I imagine.
Oh and I spose I am a PC man - never really been into the Mac thing - never
had to and find them difficult to get to know.
Also a little tool called putty - a must for anyone that uses SSH regularly
and WINAMP WINAMP WINAMP. Oh and a tool called MailWasher - download your
email headers and preview before the mail...

The hardware is not over important to me. As long as the PC is powerful
enough to handle the apps I use, brand is not important.
As for software
Macromedia Studio MX,
Adobe Photoshop/Indesign CS
I've started to move more towards the development side of things and have
spent the past 3 months inside SQL Server and Visual Studio.NET till 1 in
the morning every day! I've got to admit that MS have really impressed me
with VS.NET, it's the best development environment I've ever worked in and
I've probably only used <5% of it's functionality.

Adobe's products, Photoshop and Illustrator. Painter, I don't even know who
owns Painter these days, my copy is V1. For animation tools I like Flash and
GifBuilder. I use GraphicConverter to create icons in .ico format, for some
reason Photoshop won't let me (don't get me started).
<< What do you work on? >>
A Mac.
<< Have anything bad to say about anything ? >>
Nope, I've never been much of a *whiner*.

AutoCAD 2004, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Macromedia MX suite, notepad
(ditto!),
Hardware:
Antec towers
What do you work on?
HP Pavilion laptop... P4, 80 GB, 512MB, DVD/CDRW, it's not my dream machine,
but it's fast, and runs well (gets a little hot sometimes....)
Logitech cordless/optical mouse, hp 932c printer, hp 5L laser printer (it's
a piece of crap, but it gets the job done... most of the time...), 128mb
verbatim usb flash memory,
Have anything bad to say about anything ?
never wear black pants because everything sticks to them and it shows
(regardless if you use static-guard etc.)
slushy snow sucks
not having a dishwasher and only one tiny sink to wash your dishes is a real
pain in the butt
so is not having a car... especially in the winter...

Ditto for Putty.
Also, http://winscp.sourceforge.net/eng/ (WinSCP) is a great Windows client
for SFTP (FTP over SSH).
