- Connecting a Tungsten T5 to the internet via USB
- Posted by Paul Schofield on September 17th, 2005
Does anyone know the settings I'd need for connecting a T5 to the internet
through a USB connection on my home computer?
I can connect via a bluetooth connection on my mobile, but I'd like to be
able to connect another way.
Thanks for your help,
Paul

I'm interested in this also. I think that you can do it using a USB dongle.
Try looking at this site www.whizoo.com/bt_setup/

The easiest way would be IMHO using program SoftickPPP on your desktop

With SoftickPPP you can also connect using Bluetooth "through" your
desktop PC to the Internet. You have BT in T5 and you'll need BT USB
dongle for your PC. They cost around $30. Go for Class I, as it has the
widest range and the cost of Class II or III is approximately the same.
The range of Class I is about 100m in open space. Or through the several
walls/doors in the house. This way I can browse the web in my bedroom
with my Tungsten E2 while my desktop is in the living room connected to
Net.
Of course, connection over the USB cable is faster than conn. over the
Bluetooth.
