Hi everyone,
Back in July I purchased a dell Axim X5 with the idea of using it to
connect to a campus wireless network. The Axim came with PPC 2003
installed which has built in VPN capability. The university has been
having anyone with PPC 2002 use the Movian VPN software which works
fine. Movian doesn't make a version of their software for PPC 2003 yet,
so I'm forced to use the built in Microsoft VPN software. The problem
is that the built in VPN doesn't work with the campus network. I've
worked with the campus IT people and they can't seem to figure out the
problem. They've tried configuring the PDA with no luck, and a check of
the VPN server logs indicates that the PDA is unable to connect using 40
bit or 128 bit encryption. The IT people said that other universities
are having problems unless they totally turn off encryption. I've tried
everything I can think of... Updating drivers, installing the MS High
encryption pack for PPC, contacting Dell tech support. No one seems to
know what the problem is.
Has anyone else seen this problem? If so, do you know a way around it?
Is the long delayed performance patch from Dell going to solve the
problem? Sorry I can't provide information about the wireless network
equipment and software.

Any help or suggestions of where to look for answers is appreciated.
