is the display on jornada 568 really that bad?
Posted by mike on August 1st, 2003

Hi i've recently ordered a reconditioned 568, it was very cheap. The price
seemed as much as I want to pay. However I've done a bit more research, and
some have argued that the build quality is not that great, and the screen is
not all that clear. I'm wondering whether i ought to send it back when i
receive it. All I really want it for is to read e-books, a bit of an
upgrade from my handspring deluxe.

Has anybody seen what the screen is like on the jornada? Should I break the
bank and get a pda with transreflective screen.

Any advice appreciated

I used to have a Visor Pro (same screen) and upgraded to a Zire 71. Any
higher res, side/back lit screen is going to seem like an incredible upgrade
for reading e-books. I'd never go back even with the lower battery life. It
lasts long enough for my use. That's pretty much all that matters

actually, the Jornada 560 series is generally acknowledged as one of the
all-time best pocket pcs for reading ebooks. do you have ClearType turned
on?
