I have two OZ-570 Sharp Wizards that I use. One was purchased new and
the other purchased refurbished. I have always used the backup
function with the sharp docking station on a desktop computer with
Windows 98 with a serial port. That computer crashed and I am now
attempting to use the docking station with my laptop with Windows XP
without a serial port by using a USB/Serial adapter.

When I plug in the adapter it uses com port 6. I have set the sharp
organizer to com port 6 in the preferences. The backup begins and
indicates that the computer is communicating with the organizer. But
the backup stops after a few moments or minutes into the transfer. The
log file indicates a 101 code failure.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can get this thing to do a backup?
