I have a Mobilon Tripad CE device. It says it uses CE version 3.0 and says
it has a core operating system of 2.11
I am trying to install a Lucent Technologies Orinoco Silver WiFi card in it
and downloaded win_ce driver sr02-1.zip from the Orinoco (Agere/Proxim)
site
It installed some huge files onto my computer off an Orinoco directory
including directories called WINCE200,210,211,212, and 300 (also some later
versions as well)
I am wondering how to install the Orinoco card PROPERLY on the Mobilon. Of
course when I put it in the slot it was recognised as a network card
immediately.
But how do I install support for the Orinoco card on the CE device? I tried
double-clicking the set-up files for what are called CE211 (I even tried
CE212) and CE300 and nothing happened (the hourglass opens for up to ten
seconds and then nothing happens
I double-clicked the set-up file in the 210 directory and it told me it was
installing and then that it had installed Lucent WaveLAN (which I thought
was a much earlier version of 80211.b) and it now appears as Lucent
Technologies Wave LAN in 'remove programs' in control panel on the Mobilon?
And now the left hand LED on the card is lit and the right hand LED is
flashing intermittently (Meaning it is searching for a WiFi network?)
Does anyone know if I have installed the correct support software for this
device or if it should be configured in some other way on the desktop
computer in order to work properly on the Mobilon?
I should add that my neighbour (75 feet away MAX) has a wifi system which
she turned on for me to test but the card cant pickup the network at all.
But my card works immediately and without drivers in her notebook running XP
L2Q
(After installation of WaveLAN, I DID try to update the 210 installation by
pressing 211 and 300 set-up on the desktop again but the same thing
happened, i.e. nothing)
